A man with something to say. But what is it?
According to Jo Blythe (ITV weather babe) June was the wettest since 1914. That was the year that Huddersfield HC reached puberty (spots, B.O and realised girls were better than first thought) and the last time Foo scored only one goal a game!!!!
So in looking back let’s revisit last season. At the heart of it all stand two principles which yet again seem to have been forgotten about… or have they. Throughout last year we harked on about core skills and athleticism (ok, fitness to those still running in plimsolls).
The off season (or the period of the rain known as the British Summer) is a time for reflection but importantly an opportunity to address self-development areas. Glastonbury, Reading and the V are great life contouring events but how will you fair when the Summer sun really kicks in with vengeance. Yes, you know the nights I’m referring to - those nights spent perfecting your style through the Pyramid’s, Coopers and Bleeps whilst coughing on midgies !!!! Have you been looking in the mirror of self-assessment? Have you done anything about it?
Ok back to the man with something to say…..
- Half heart cries in the night (Patrick screams to Luan no more please!!)
- Bolt the door, put out the light ( Sandy lies down with another post 01 July drag)
- The clock just stopped, time goes slow (Reedy is doing the bleep test…. again)
- Listen to my voice on the telephone………………….Training starts on 26 July at 20.00pm at Lockwood Park
Bring water (loads of it) you will need it …… we might even use that new Gray’s stick, but then again that is not what we want in pre-season.
You have a few weeks for a bit of basic core fitness so get out on the streets, think of Jo Blythe in the rain and you might be able to dispel of the need for A&E.
Did it really make a difference?
Am I really what I seem to be?
Did I ever truly breathe again?
Only time will tell!!! Only time will tell!!! Only time will tell!!!
